The cost of housing in California is too damn expensive. For every 100 people who exited homelessness in 2024, 118 more became homeless. Half of America's unsheltered homeless population lives right here in California, with nine out of ten people failing to exit homelessness due to the high cost of housing.
The current 10% rent cap is not enough to prevent rising homelessness. Under the current formula, renters could face crushing cumulative increases of 90-100% over ten years. That’s completely unsustainable–rent hikes far outpace wage growth.

CORPORATE HOMEWRECKERS HATE CALIFORNIA
Billionaires and corporations wreck California by polluting the environment, exploiting workers, and making the cost of living too damn expensive. These use their wealth to influence greedy politicians. Politicians pass harmful statewide policies that defund community resources, put working class communities of color at risk, and make it harder to tax the rich.

CBRT HATES CALIFORNIA
The California Business Roundtable is the lobbying arm of the largest and biggest corporations in California. They are constantly trying to use their wealth to change the rules to make it harder to tax the rich. They work to defund community resources and put working class communities of color at risk.

BIG OIL HATES CALIFORNIA
Big oil and gas corporations are destroying California and our planet. Pollution from oil refineries destabilizes our global climate and intensifies extreme weather. The communities with the fewest material resources to prepare for and recover from environmental disasters are the first and worst hit.

BIG REAL ESTATE HATES CALIFORNIA
Corporations have been buying up properties displacing people in California for a long time. Corporate Real Estate’s lobbying and influence of greedy politicians has led to higher rents, more homelessness, and less affordable housing across the state. They have made it really difficult to live in California.

BIG RETAIL HATES CALIFORNIA
Because Big Retail corporations are only interested in protecting their property, corporate donors are funneling millions of dollars into more aggressive policing. Without any public oversight, police are able to buy specialized surveillance technology and high-tech weapons that are then used against our communities.
